Investigate ecosystems on Earth to help a visiting alien find a temporary home that will meet their survival needs!

In this VFT, students:

  • Explore and collect evidence in ecosystems around the world.
  • Develop a claim about which ecosystem would be the best fit for a visiting alien, using evidence from multiple ecosystems to justify their reasoning.
  • Apply their understanding of the NGSS Disciplinary Core Ideas: LS2.A: Interdependent relationships in Ecosystems, and LS4.C: Adaptation

  • Designed for Grades 3-8

  • Takes approximately 50 minutes
