Incredible Inquiry: Asking Questions for Science

Explore deserts, rainforests, cities, and canyons to spark curiosity and turn wonderings into questions for science.

In this VFT, students:

  • Make close observations of sites around the world through a specific content lens (geology, ecosystems, or human impacts).
  • Use their observations to generate questions about what they notice.
  • Transform their questions into science questions through a scaffolded, collaborative process.
  • Develop skills related to NGSS Science and Engineering Practice 1: Asking Questions and Defining Problems.
  • Designed for Grades 3-5

  • Takes approximately 50 minutes
